to get the ball rolling, I'll give you one from each category:

vague sense impression: I remember the sensation of my bike sliding on glare ice as I rode to class in the morning, and needing to tuck my nose into my collar to keep my lungs from freezing as I rode

specific events: I remember wandering through the Arb at all hours of the day-- picnics and frisbee in the afternoon, climbing trees at twilight, sneaking through the underbrush in the moonlight...

climate: I now appreciate Ann Arbor as the 'Berkeley of the midwest' that it was (is?)... even so I was disappointed at the conservatism and intellectual timidity of my classmates (so many frat/sorority clones, uptight engineers, eager young republicans)... Gulf War I caused me to grit my teeth every time I saw another asinine yellow ribbon a'blowing in the breeze... but then Clinton arrived mid-way into my college stint, and for a while we had a 'kindler, gentler machine-gun hand' as Neil Young would say...

evolution: well, I finally got the facts and analysis to put my latent evironmentalism, liberalism, and compassion into an internally consistent shape... and deepened and developed my strident atheism, anti-capitalism and anti-authoritarianism...
